The longest I had to wait to post a comment was 3 hours. That was after getting into an argument with renegade_sith (I see you've met him) and tets. Their pretty butthurt, everyone who disagrees with them is instantly a 'troll'. I upvoted all of your comments from that argument, so hopefully your comment timer will do down ;)

Sounds like the system is broken. One (or two) user shouldn't have that much control over others.

I see comments on a meme that offer a differing opinion. Username did not attack anyone on the specific meme I checked when I initially saw this feature and checked the recent comments on his/her profile page. Civility needs to re-emerge on this site. Those with influence on the site should move forward and promote civility and lead by example.

If you send me a link that shows Username trolling on one of your other memes, I will pass the same message on and have a discussion with him/her. You shouldn't be trolled by users either just because they have different thoughts and want to harass you.

I'm not singling you out. I've already had one positive conversation regarding this topic earlier today. I will be having these conversations with other users as I come across the issue.

Disagreements and debates are great and can lead to good discussions. We need to create the proper environment for that to be able to occur.

imgflip is a meme site with a great community. Our goal should be that everyone logs off laughing or thinking about a good discussion.

He continues to comment on my Trump memes when he knows where I stand on Trump and I know where he stands. There's no reason to keep commenting on my Trump memes when he knows it's going to start am argument.

I don't need to prove anything to you. I've been on this site longer. And maybe you should take your own advice. That user you chewed out hasn't been on ever since. Thanks a lot.

That's why I said moving forward, what's in the past is in the past. It takes the community and community leaders to move the atmosphere back into a positive environment.

You have nothing to prove to me. I'm simply willing to promote civility to help make the site a better place for everyone. I'm not going to dig through old memes, but if I notice something on the hot or newest pages I'll speak up.

I just wanted to show I'm coming from a neutral position and willing to talk to Username. It sounds like you two have a history, and I don't know what that history is other than what is on this meme and that meme at the moment and what you stated above. That said I'll ask them not to continue to harass you.

We want this to be an enjoyable community for everyone. A quick look at your profile page hot memes looks like you generally don't post political memes. I don't have your side of the story yet, but please don't harass Sith. I'm trying not to make this a "he said/they said" post, but reading it, it kind of comes off that way. That's not my intention, I'm trying to stay neutral and spread the message of civility among all users.

If enough of the community leaders voice their displeasure with users creating an uncivil atmosphere we can change the community for the better. I can't do it alone, Olympian can't do alone, and even both of combined aren't enough to change the tide. It needs to be a vast majority of the community realizing that civility needs to rise, and then actually being civil.

I don't step into political memes, but when I saw this on the new pages and then again later on the hot pages it was time to speak up.

It's gotten to the point I'm willing to take that risk. Seeing how "Save Steve Harvey" went, it's become clear I do have some influence on the community. I intend to use that influence to benefit all.
