Not really. I work at Ross. All of our stuff is marked REALLY far below MSRP.
Just a few more things that piss me off at work:
People ask if an item is mens' or womens'. Clearly, since you had to ask, it's pretty close to unisex. If the watch fits, wear it!
People ask if an item is real silver. How the Force should I know? There's about 50 other metals that look exactly like silver, and about 15 of them are used in costume jewelry. Plus many of them are a lot more affordable, and never tarnish. In this respect, nickel and chromium-iron alloy (known to its friends and admirers as stainless steel) are superior.
People ask what the ring size is. If it'a not written on the box or the ring itself, I have no way of knowing.
People ask if a stone is real diamond. How the Force should I know? Furthermore, diamonds are about 10 times as expensive as they should be since the De Beers company has a stranglehold monopoly on the mines. In this sense, crystalline zirconium dioxide (known to idiotic, illogical, and anti-intellectual women as "cubic zirconia") isn't fake diamond. Diamond is just overpriced zirconium dioxide. Diamonds are NOT particularly rare, nor are they "forever" (they turn to carbon dioxide if you heat them too much in the atmosphere), nor are they especially and uniquely beautiful. And since YOU weren't able to tell ask if the "diamond" was real, there's a good chance your girl won't be able to tell unless she's a jeweler.
