And what of the conservative bible-thumpers' attitude towards Obama? Nowadays, on the right, it seems to be 'do as I say, not as I do'.

I know for me, being a Christian, I did not agree with Obama on just about everything, nor did I like him as a leader of my country, nor did I like him as a person. However, believing a leader is put there by God, does not mean we have to like it. God often does things out of discipline. If the country turns its back on Him God will set in motion to destroy the country.

And I respect that position. But as a non-believer I believe true authority derives from the will of the masses. And thus my position on the current electee and his lack of a mandate. I just found that Obama lived by his moral beliefs more than any president in a long time and find it odd that those to his right would oppose someone who so governed as if he were following the teachings of Jesus. The current electee lives by no moral code that I can detect, unless living for oneself is a twisted form of it.

I'll give you that. Obama definitely stood by his morals in most cases, but I don't agree with his morals, which is why I never supported him. Trump, I don't think, has too many morals, but I think he will continue to surround himself with people that do.

I think the sign of a great leader is not just how he leads and how he conducts himself, but also by who he surrounds himself with. If a leader surrounds himself with a bunch of "yes-men" what good is that?

Agreed. I'm not sure Trump will go the way of differing opinions though. And so far I'm only impressed with his choice of Nikki Haley to the UN. I guess we'll find out.
