Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, Gary Johnson, et al received the exact same number of votes on election day. That is ZERO.
In addition to the wisdom of the Electoral College, the election process is set so that when you vote, you're voting for what is called a "slate of electors" from your state. This number is equal to the electoral votes a state has. Georgia has 16, so we have 16 electors.
The GOP picks their electors for a state, the DNC picks theirs. They are going to select party loyalists they can trust to vote the will of the people of their state in December after the election. Whichever candidate's slate of electors wins the popular vote within that state will be sent to cast their votes. They are legally allowed to vote how they see fit, but again, as they are party loyalists, they are pretty much assured to vote as they were sent.
So all the petitions to try and get the electors to betray the trust put into them are pretty much guaranteed to fail -- and rightly so. The people in that state chose the electors that represent a certain candidate and they should not change their mind on a whim. And it's doubtful they will do so.
In Georgia, they used to actually list the electors names on the ballot. With electronic voting, they've reduced it to just the name of the candidate those electors represent.
So who won the popular vote? No one. We don't even take a popular vote in the USA for president. Since legally those votes were cast for the electors, I think you'd have a legal issue trying to subverting the actual vote by attributing those votes to a completely different entity: that of the candidate.
