Where I live in Alberta, it is terrible. If you live in one of the Southern states, you would not even be able to fathom it. January is the worst. It can get to -40, although this doesn't happen every year. -25 Celcius (13 below Fahrenheit) is pretty typical though for a January day. I am working in January, or we would be going south that month too. Some places are better though. Vancouver is OK, but it is cloudy and rainy for most of the winter.
