Unfortunately a large portion of Americans have been looking to the corporate media for their information about the world. There are too many ironies in this one fact to enumerate in one night, much less less explore. Suffice it to say, people who would not gossip at work or with neighbors accept the words of CorpMedia as absolute truth. They are limited by lack of experience and lack of knowledge. Personal knowledge is critical to seeing the truth. In 1963 media connected Goldwater to war, Johnson to peace, peace in Viet Nam. (There weren't any apologies from "the press" during or after that staggeringly destructive war, of course.)
