My ex used to pull that crap on me. Kids wanted to do something, mom would say ask your father. If it was reasonable, I said yes, then wife would go off on me because she didn't want them doing that.
Kinda makes sense why you're on here... nonetheless.

It worked, some. Wife hated being the bad cop. She learned, eventually, that if she had a reason and told them no, I'd back her up. But it took several years for her to understand that
