Cobalt, which also makes the battery toxic and a fire-hazard. YOU THINK... Actually these car batteries are LiFePO4 which is a much lower fire hazard, and better for the environment. Its derived from the mineral Olivine. Also a direct replacement for TWO alkaline cells (same voltage).

Celphone batteries are LiCoO2 based... toxic, strategic, and a fire hazard. Phone industry needs to migrate to LiFePO4.
