Coumadin & Warfarin were developed as a rat poison, and increase significantly the risk of intracranial bleeding.

I'm on warfarin, along with millions of other people, I'm pretty healthy enough to live a normal life. It's the meds Pradaxa and Xeralto that cause all the problems with kidney damage and intercranial bleeding.

I take warfarin as well. Have been for 8 years. Ii take my rat poison daily and have my INR checked regularly.

Im wondering why she's not on a different blood thinner. One that doesn't need mo thly monitoring.

I was on pradaxa for 2 days, horrible drug, I bled like a stck pig, then tried Xarelto, because of the no monitoring, i starded getting headaches and sore kidneys after a few months. Went back to warfarin, so I gotta get a blood test ocassionally, big deal, but better for it. Coumadin my understanding is it's a temporary thinner till propper diagnosis and monitoring can be done. I was on it for a very short time when I started getting sick. But my heart disease is life long, had it since birth. Got my pacemaker at 39 yrs old.

I got my artificial valve just before my fify first Burpdeh in 2008. It'll be a lifetime drug for me, as well.

Not as fun as the pills we popped in our youth ha ha.
