I have some but wear them once-in-a-while. Sometimes I look down and wonder why blood is running down my hands.

My husband is a machinist and his hands look a lot like these

[image deleted]My German forebearers went to Russia after Catherine the Great offered them land. I guess they were better farmers than her subjects or something like that. Luckily they got out before the world wars of the last century.

This is my Bohemian grandpa and grandma circa 1960s

They look similar to photos of my great-grandparents from a little before that time. I'm not quite sure from where in Germany my ancestors were originally from before they headed to Russia and Romania, but the earliest my mom has traces of someone in her genealogy info is a couple from Prussia in the early 1800s. But it's all sturdy German stock, right? :)

My dad's side has all the people with vices. My mum's side were too busy with their orchards. She's originally from Yakima but she and her brother were the first generation that didn't grow anything.

Work wasn't bad, but it still sucks more than memeing. They finally got around to featuring the puking medieval meme I submitted this morning. I have another idea for one, once I get back from delivering liquor...

[image deleted]Wish I had some of the photos of my mum's side of the family to send. Volga German immigrants from the Ukraine who ended up in South Dakota. Sepia-tinted photos of people standing around in the dirt at the beginning of the last century.

My maternal gps came from the Ilova area of Yugoslavia after migrating there under the same program, free land make a homestead. They did and then went to the US on what they earned. My paternal gps remained in the CZR along with many of my uncles, aunts cousins.

My mum's side is pure Volga German until my generation. They tend to homestead together and immigrate together and then homestead together again. So I'm half what I prefer to cal 'Vulgar German'. :) Anyway I need to get back to helping mum with her genealogy, it's quite interesting. My great- or great-great-grandfather was shot to death outside a bar by a guy he had stopped from beating his horse earlier in the day. It's not just my dad's side that has rapscallions, albeit a good rapscallion.
