Economically speaking, yes. Women tend to miss out on economic opportunity significantly more often than men do. Part if of it is a genuine wage gap, and part of it is our American culture discouraging women from pursuing careers in business, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Part of it is that statistical tendency to be required to take time off to care for children. Part of it is tied to tenure and the tendency to seek new employment more often than men. Etc, etc, etc.....
