Some will come out and tell you the correct word, others will give you a list. Others will just mock you for your choice of words. (My youngest girl still has nightmares about using the term "more gooder" around me)
It also helps with my worst habit: bad spelling. Last time I had it checked, I had the equivilant of an Eighth Grade spelling level. Think good four Otto Kerr wrecked.
As that previous sentence shows, auto correct can be as much a help as a hinderence. It can also put you in the habit of proof reading your work. I usually have 2 to 3 days of memes made up ahead. I don't impulsively post, so I have time to proof read. I can delete the bad and start with a fresh, properly done meme.
While most memes don't use much, if any, punctuation, should your teacher assign meme making, they may be sticklers on that.
Of course, the class clowns will have fun breaking the rules of grammar. "Today, we, learned, about, using, commas, in, our, sentences," This was how Captain Kirk's dialouge was written.
You'll also learn proper usage of various words, like their, there, and they're.
Now, I know some English teacher will rip me a new one for various infractions of the rules of English, so go to it.
