Now that's a fan! I liked the Ewoks films too. I need to upgrade to a bluray player so I can upgrade to the BR films. :{

Caravan of Courage can be a bit painful at times, but the Battle for Endor was awesome! At least Lucas never bothered messing around those two films later.

Confession Bear Meme | THE EWOKS WERE SORT OF SCARY TO ME AS A KID, BUT I STILL WANTED THEM ON MY SIDE INSTEAD OF THE EMPIRE OR THOSE MARAUDERS | image tagged in memes,confession bear | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
Well, I'm a SE fan, so I don't mind the newer cuts.

And the Ewok films, like Clone Wars and Rebels, are meant for kids. So I just put myself in that mindset to watch them.

That's probably why I have very little gripes with the franchise. Try to think of it like a 7 year old. :{

I like most of the SE additions, but some are just painful. The singer in the Cantina and the changing of the music at the end of Episode VI are really the only ones that truly bother me. The original music with the Ewoks celebrating was just so much more fitting. And the cantina singing is horrendous. I haven't watched the toons yet, but their in my Netflix queue.

Wait, you mean Jabba's palace with the singing right? I couldn't find any videos witht he cantina. If you have a link, let me see it. lol

I too like the Ewoks song better. Yub nub!

I still like the changes though. I see what Lucas was going for and would have done in the first place had he the time and money.

Plus it's neat watching the different versions. I still have the vhs boxset from 1995 that has the pre-SE versions. I like to watch them every so often.

Clone Wars(both versions) and Rebels are pretty good. But they're more geared to younger kids. Like how the films are meant for 8 and up, the shows are meant for 5 and up.

Rebels is my favorite so far. I just hate that Disney is just ripping it off of TFU and the EU characters. Still worth watching though. When Kanan says he's going to let everyone in on the secret in the first or second episode it gave me chills. And Kanan has a few other moments like that that also give me chills.

Rebels is also really good about getting OT actors like Billy Dee Williams and James Earl Jones. And if you like the concept art by RM, you'll like the visuals. :{

You're probably right about the singing at Jabba's place. That's the only piece of the entire franchise I've seen so far that I actually hate, so I try to block it out.

Yeah, I can definitely see where he was going with his original vision, which is why I don't mind most of the changes, and actually like a lot of them. I know people harp on the Jabba/Han conversation but I don't mind it.

For me its a matter of much the new stuff added to the movies or detracted from them. Despite not minding most of the additions, and that I like seeing what he wanted to do the first time around, they just don't outweigh those two major issues when I watch it.

Don't know who RM is, but looking forward to starting Clone Wars in about 3 months or so. Depends on how much time school sucks up.

That's another song that I like the OT version better, BUT, I did like the action figures that came from that scene. Those three alien dancers and the way Boa Fett flirts with one always made me smile.

I loved that Jabba and Boba are added into ANH. And I thought it was neat how they handled it.

I think if he added in more and didn't remove anything that would satisfy more people. But he could still alter things like Han shooting first to help his idea of the Solo character or Boba's voice being changed to Temura's. Those make sense.

But he never should have removed anything. I wouldn't mind if the films were three hours long like the LOTR films with added content.

RM is Ralph Mcquarrie , the main OT concept artist.

I hope you get to check out CW and Rebels. But I hope your schooling goes well even more. :{D

Idk one of my best friends has an entire star wars sleeve and I think even he forced himself to like the prequels. He'd never admit it though.

There was never a legit reason not to like them. Yeah sure Jar-Jar was annoying but it wasn't a big deal to me. The hate towards them got out of control. It just became a "cool" hipster trend for some reason.

Sorry for ranting lol

I agree that the hate became the popular thing to do. It is a shame that Qui-gon didn't let Jar Jar get run over in the first ten minutes of Episode I though.

The acting was f**king terrible. Especially in the first one. I think they were emulating the actors from the seventies. Acting evolves just like everything else. I don't claim to be a star wars fan. I'll watch the originals for nostalgic reasons. I remember sitting on my dad's lap when I was a little kid watching them. But the level some of my friends take it to is just ridiculous. I can say I have one friend who truly is a geek because he just is that way. He does not flaunt it. Three of my friends went on saw the new one twice because they didn't follow it the first time. I'm just like "just admit that it was just okay!"

I disagree about the acting. And actually the style of acting that George Lucas was going for was based on 1930s/40s serials like Flash Gordon. What in particular did you not like about the acting?

People can take any hobby/interest too far. Some people take sports too far. But if it makes you happy then that's what it's all about.

That's cool. Captain Phasma is just a high ranking First Order member. She doesn't have a connection to the previous films from what they've said. She's played by Gwendoline Christy from Game of Thrones. Basically she's the new Boba Fett type character.

What did you like most about TFA? Isn't Rey awesome?? :D

You should watch Episodes 2 and 3!

I loved episodes 4, 5, and 6 when I was a kid...and I enjoyed episodes 1, 2, and 3 as an adult...I totally agree that Jar Jar Binks was annoying more than he was comic relief. One problem that I had with AOTC was the choice of Hayden Christiansen as Annikin...I thought he portrayed Annikin as too "whiny" and there was absolutely no chemistry between he and Natalie Portman...as a result, in my opinion, their love story was not even close to being believable...but that's just "my" opinion... As a whole, I probably liked AOTC the best out of the prequels.

As for episode 7... To me, it sure seemed an awful lot like episode 4...

Droid has a hidden message...The evil ones are after the droid...the droid finds the future hero...Droid and said hero get involved with the good guys...Head bad guy kills a major good guy...hero sees it happen...hero and the other good guys blow up the "planet killer base"...hero seeks out the baddest Jedi alive.

That would be the basic plot of both "Star Wars" and "The Force Awakens"
It was a slight disappointment, but I still enjoyed it...I just hope Episode 8 isn't a remake of "The Empire Strikes Back". But I will still watch it... they're playing TFA on STARZ cable channel this month.

Glad to hear you liked AOTC and the prequels for the most part. I think Hayden was unfairly criticized for his portrayal of Anakin. He was just portraying him the way that George Lucas wanted. Some people just didn't like the character but to me the way Anakin acts makes sense completely. He was having visions of his mom being tortured and Obi-Wan and the Jedi were basically like, "tough shit bro" because of the Jedi code, which is why he began to resent the Jedi.

I thought Hayden and Natalie had some great scenes together. The dialogue is probably the reason why their chemistry was criticized. I was fine with it, but it could've been better. George Lucas probably should've got some help writing the romantic type scenes.

As for TFA, I enjoyed it. It's definitely the same basic plot as ANH but I gave them a pass this time. The script was rewritten by JJ and Kasdan (from the OT) to have the characters searching for Luke as opposed to the original script where Luke was playing a mentor type in the film. I thought it was just different enough to get away with it and I liked the idea of searching for the "mythical Luke Skywalker". JJ Abrams is notorious for being an unoriginal writer although he is good at directing IMO. Episode 8 was written by Rian Johnson who is also directing it and hopefully its story is more original and not just copying ESB. Mark Hamill and others have said the script is great.

Cool...I'm totally looking forward to seeing how they evolve Luke's character...he's basically gonna be Yoda and Rey will be the new Luke...I wish they would've given Leia a little more use of the Force than just sensing things too.

Oh yeah...I was really bummed that they killed off Han too...but it makes sense for the story I suppose...still bummed tho'...

I can't wait to see Luke as a powerful Jedi Master. And hopefully they kept Mara Jade from the EU as his wife. It seems like there's a gravestone next to him so it could be her. If that's true then Rey is probably Luke's daughter.

Yeah I hear ya about Leia, I guess they just think her using force powers would seem silly at this point given how badly she's aged.

It was tough for me seeing Han killed at first. It felt like a relative or friend dying because I grew up with that character.

Kashyyyk is the one that usually gets me. I always go "wookiee has two e's so Kashyyyk should have two y's" lol

At least you have a nice way of pointing it out.

I got flak from Chokesgoatspray here the other day because I misspelled Ahsoka as Asoka. :{P
