Okay, but just to clarify, I'm not making a statement about liberal arts, I'm making a statement about the quote.

Yeah, it's an ignorant thing to say and it buys in to the stupid modern trend of reducing everything to economic value, too.

It is an ignorant thing to say, but I don't see it as "reducing everything to economic value".
I see it as someone who thinks more highly of liberal arts than other more economically sound careers and saying something biased. :{
