I worked at many schools as the nurse and there were more than a few who needed it, unfortunately. Worked in California for several years and paddling was not allowed and the kids knew it and took advantage.

LOL. Sounds like my failed marriage. One of the first things I was told upon moving in was that I wasn't allowed to swat the kids. It was an agreement made with her ex husband before I arrived. The kids (three of them) were all too happy to hear that! Yes, they darn sure took advantage. :-(
