Trump relief

This is nothing against Trump. Just something actual emergency managers know all too well.

How would that play if Hillary had gone to Louisiana and Trump had not gone? Not trying to be trolling, but a perspective worthy of consideration I would think. For each side.

From an emergency management perspective?

There are many. The media. Yourself. Myself. Hillary. Trump. But mainly yourself. I think the rationale, for the media, if Hillary had gone and trump stayed away would be. They'd be touting what a great thing Hillary did. How selfless. How callus that Trump did not go. No?

Absolutely not. Self deploying hurts the actual coordinated response. Bringing supplies that aren't needed/wanted is also a drag on resources because someone is going to have to end up storing or figuring out a way to dispose of them. I don't give a f**k who it is. You need to work through the national, state or local emergency management office before doing anything. You need to work through the Incident Command System and logistics section chief.

I think the media would celebrate Hillary. ¯_(?)_/¯ ¯_(?)_/¯

Like I said in my original comment, this is nothing about Trump. This isn't anything about Hillary. Emergency response isn't about politics.
