I've done this with French cartoons. From French to lieral English, the I translate to conversational English and reception cartoon.
My qualifications? I did customer service for most of the 90s and dealt with ESL customers. There English was technically correct, but they failed to understand how words were weighted.
Example; we offered long distance calling programs. Customers would call asking what ourclatrst scheme was. Which was accurate at MCI. But not at AT&T.
