Senate passed the bill a few months ago. Currently working to align their version with the House version.

Prepare for young women 18 - 24 to be required to register for the draft.

Current hang up is the recent passage of women being allowed in combat zones.

A lot of debate going on about this.

Prediction? We will be escalating military involvement in the Middle East within 4 years. Draft will be reinstated within that time period. Women will be drafted and put in combat zones within 8 years.

There will be a surge in pregnancies to avoid the draft and combat operations.

Tell me, what is this bill called?

Oh ya I heard of this bill, last time I heard of it most Democrats were against it, calling it sexist

SO i'm reading this bill right? I find nothing here about requiring women ages 18-24 to sign onto the draft, maybe I flew by it, what part of this large bill says that women must sign onto the draft?

I'll have to get back with you on that. I don't have access to my notes on it, so I'll have to use a computer instead of my cell phone. I want to day it's in section C, concerning military personnel, but I can't say for certain. Like you said, it is a bit long: 1500+ pages.

That's why each bill goes through a committee. Once finished, committee members present it, Reps pass it to their aides to read and comment, then they read it with the notes their sides provide, when done right.

Not all bills are this long, but this bill covers a lot of territory. But then, a rep should be able to read and comprehend those bills. This is why most elected officials are members of the bar association or have law in their backgrounds.

Best piece of legislation I've ever read was in the Ohio state legislature concerning making Hang On Sloopy the official rock song for Ohio. If you have a few minutes, Google it. Wikipedia had a very good article on it. The legislation is less than two pages. You'll love it.

When the Senate passed the bill, I think every other comment on Imgur was from a young woman that said she'd get preggers before she'd go into combat.

It's one thing for a woman to volunteer, like Tammy Duckworth, but another when they're drafted.

Come to think of it, the same should hold true to the males.
