It was amazing also to see who were responsible for the shames this nation committed during expansion. Let alone how over time history has shifted the blame of the Civil War from the Democratic Party to the southern states. And I finally learned what it was that began to draw the votes of the early immigrants and the offspring of the freed slaves to the Democratic Party. Which... as religion and politics do... got passed down thru the generations since.
