Palestine did not exist in 1946. The Arabs refused to accept a two state solution. The Arab Higher Committee did not create a state and instead they chose to attack the Israels. As a result the Arabs lost more land. Transjordan, Egypt and the other members of The Arab League are responsible for the current state of their people in Palestine. They should welcome their people back to those county instead of keeping them caged where they are. Every piece of lost territory has come as a result of failed military attacks against Israel. Even today the State of Palestine only wants the pre 1967 borders. Palestine didn't even declare itself a state until 1988.

YOU'VE BEEN LIED TO PALESTINE HAS EXISTED FOR A LONG TIME | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
The first time Palestine was mentioned was c1150 BCE. The Greek Herodotus writes of Palestine in 50 BCE. In c.340 BCE, Aristotle wrote, "there is a lake in Palestine", referring to the Dead Sea. When the Romans conquered, they kept the Greek spelling of the name "Palaestina". The 1938 National Geographic Map to the left shows Palestine. The Israelis also refused the U.N. Partition plan and have since continued to take more and more Palestinian land.

Palestine was a geographic area, not a nation state. Nothing you cited indicates that it was anything more than an unincorporated piece of land. You are being disingenuous at best. Your attempt to use "facts" without context might work with others but not me. It's was just a region even during the Ottoman Empire. Again, they didn't even declare themselves a nation state until 1988. That is an indisputable fact. The Isralelis did not reject the two state solution in the late 1940s. You have been lied to. Stop believing the lies of the Islamic Fascist. You seem to have a really narrow-minded view on this issue. You should really try to be more open minded about things. The Israelis have only ever secured more land after being attacked by its Arab neighbors. That is something you don't seem to understand. The Arabs could have prevented all of this in the late 1940s but instead chose war. Explain to me again why the Arab countries in the region have no responsibility to help the people of Palestine.

So, if Palestine didn't exist because it was conquered by Empires throughout much of it's history, then the countries in the Americas didn't exist until after they fought for independence of their colonial masters. Your view means Scotland and Northern Ireland still don't exist because they're a part of the United Kingdom. India didn't exist until 1947 even though India is thousands of years old. Isn't that like saying a person doesn't exist until they get a Social Security Card?

Wow, you completely ignored the vast majority of what I said. Instead you come back with a logical fallacy argument using faulty analogies. Every example you put forth is unique and deserving of its own discussion. For example, The Kingdom of Scotland emerged as an independent sovereign state in the Early Middle Ages and continued to exist until 1707, unlike Palestine. Your simplistic one size fits all approach simply doesn't work. The person/Social Security Card analogy is completely unrelated and a sophomoric attempt to assign meaning to my argument that does not exist. This discussion started on a previous meme where we were discussing who was responsible for keeping the Palestinians in an open-air prison. You have deflected ever since. Why do you persist in refusing to justify the treatment of the Palestinans by their Arab neighbors? I'm still waiting to hear why the Arab countries in the region have no responsibility to help the people of Palestine. They are the ones who created the awful situation that the Palestinians are in today.

You're using the same old worn out argument that's a complete fallacy. Palestine existed long before Israel. And, although Israel declared itself an independent nation state doesn't mean it really is. It refuses to define it's borders which is why the U.S. cannot enter into any treaty with it.

YOUR ARGUMENT IS INVALID | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
Why don't Palestine's Arab neighbors do more to help them? They caused the problem and keep the Palestinians from leaving. The rest of the Arab countries then use the Palestinians as a propaganda tool. So sad to see a people used and abused by those they share a kinship with.

The Palestinians shouldn't have to leave. . . it's their home. And, the Arab neighbors can't afford to go to war with Israel. Israel is a nuclear state. . . their neighbors aren't.

The Jews shouldn't be annihilated... it's their home. Help as in financial aid. Not another failed military campaign that caused this problem. The Arab countries have been awash in oil money for decades. The majority of aid comes from the West. Jordan and Egypt refuse to allow Palestinians to enter their countries.

Not all Jews are Zionists and not all Zionists are Jews. Many religious Jews think Zionism is a sin against God who told the Jews they can't have a country of their own until it's God's Will. . . not Man's. Many Zionists are Christians who think that Jesus will only come back when the Jews retake Israel. Reading it scholarly as I do, the word "Israel" means "the People who remain faithful to God amidst suffering". It's not necessarily just "Jews".

"Reading it scholarly as I do..." Lol

So just some of the Jews then? Lol. Still trying to deflect and not address a direct question I have posed over and over.

No one is trying to annihilate the Jews. And, it's not really their home since most Israelis are from Eastern Europe.

Attacked by Arab neighbors in 1948 and again in 1967. So yeah... The Jews are from Israel and were driven out during antiquity.

I have a college degree in ancient languages, ancient history, and mythology. I focused on the dead languages and can read Greek, Latin, Anglo-Saxon. . . some Hebrew, Gaelic, and early Welsh. Yes. . . it's a "scholarly" reading of the text.
2 ups, 8y
That's surprising since so many of your responses don't sound very "scholarly". You might want to ask your school for a refund...

If you're not going to even look into it, then there's no use trying to have reasonable discussion. That's sad because these things need desperately to be talked about, if we truly care about everyone.
If you read what we shared and investigate it, please, share the reason you believe this is false. But you have to have some kind of evidence.
0 ups, 3mo
Well we can talk about that. But does not excuse any of this. Sadly we took the land in war.
Both the Jews and Palestinians were given land. Greed and entitlement from some of Palastinian men has affected more people with the death and destruction than in all of history.
0 ups, 3mo
They literally never legit owned the land. Lots of people loved there. They didn't call themselves Palastinians. The history is complex. But legit sources are out there. This has been the most successful misinformation tactic ever. Hamas is known for this exact thing. This is a lie passed down from bitter entitled men who refused to accept the land they were given.
