this is the internet, you can't tell if someone is stupid or sarcastic.

Agree, but you can look at other memes (in this case from me) and check what tone of voice this person has. Should give a good indication if a person is a complete nut case, a racist or just looking for the rough edges.

Sometimes it's hard, especially when the person only types a few words.
