Karma is the idea of rewards and punishments being doled out by an impersonal force, so yes, the idea behind it contradicts the idea of a universe ruled by a loving God.
But I think sometimes when people say "karma," they're just using it casually to refer to how actions have consequences, without really thinking of the worldview behind it. That's just my thoughts about it.
