I remember I used to get very frustrated that my memes were going mostly unseen.
One day I just decided to give up on getting upvotes or getting the front page, and instead I decided to to just put funny meme comments on memes that were already on the front page (since people were already viewing them, so that way my jokes would at least get seen).
It turns out that this worked out very well, because now people come visit my memes. I don't know if it's because they got familiar with me through my comments, or whether it's because I got enough points from the comments to get on the leaderboard and that made people curious, but whatever the reason was, that was how more people started seeing my memes.
