Lesson 1, God is not a "He". No where does it state that and a chauvinistic era made God a male. There is no gender label. God said "I am, what I am". There is no explanation of what it is and we are not to apply a label.

In English, if gender is not specified for a person, you refer to said person as though HE were a male. Thus, we call God "He", not "it".
