England is economically safe. If trade is refused, Europe would go belly up. They can't not work with the fifth largest economy in the world.

Not true. If England refuses trade with any of the EU countries, that country goes belly up. England has too much in the way of consumer leverage. If Germany decided it wants to tariff autos, England refuses to by German cars. That would have huge repercussions for the German auto industry. It's to big a lose to get into a trade war with England.

This is more complex. UK left UE and left the benefits of being in the EU. Germany is in EU. and trade with non-EU countries is valid for Germany, they can not treat countries outside the EU as well as countries of the EU. So German pay more for Nissan produced in England, the Englishman will pay more for a Volkswagen produced in the EU. This is not beneficial for both parties.

They most certainly can. They will have to. If it isn't beneficial for either party. Then a renegotiated trade deal comes into place. Capital protects capital.

When England leaves, Germany will be burdened with supporting most of the EU on its own. That will become untenable over the long term.

EU don't have to treat UK on "special conditions". Only if the output of UK destabilize the EU. Renegotiated trade deal comes into place if UK economy survive the coming crisis and next "credit crunch"
