I'm sure there's alien life still in it's primitive stages, ancient stages, etc. I'm sure there's some that would be far more advanced. I also find interesting that some people speculate that technology advanced aliens probably would choose to leave Earth alone to let humans advance naturally.
Imo I just don't think it's always the "Alien conquerors enslave humanity" scenario like they portray it in the movies. Also, I think that it would be hard to conquer a whole planet, considering that you would have to subdue several billion self-aware creatures
Not only would you need to take on 7 billion people, if they were to have "ground infantry" think of all the deadly animals that could take them out too. I could never really see an alien invasion ever happen.
Aliens would never have a reason to take over Earth, t would be difficult to capture a planet, there are 7 billion people, diseases, and nature would all take a toll on them. :D
That's what I'm saying; They would need a massive tech advantage to over come those things. Not to mention, if they were smart enough to build a civilization capable of destroying a whole world, surely they would be smart enough to realize global war would destroy the planet and any resources. The only thing left would be the equivalent of mars or some such planet
maybe some resources are easier to come back for once nuclear destruction has happened. maybe we are part of their television series like on the simpsons. maybe they eat humans, and as humans have done to cows, we are also doing to ourselves. maybe we are a liberal research project. maybe they like mars bars.
