That's not accurate. It blunts Jesus's shocking claim of authority over the Torah and adds this watered-down idea of "bringing out the best in you," as if it were the other person making it possible to love him.
Ah, "The Message" Bible. You know, I was skimming through one of those and I saw a recipe for Rice Krispies Treats. I was like, "I didn't know that was in the Bible!" Haha
