I hadn't noticed any pattern like that. In fact I don't know if it's even really true for horror movies - it could be just an example of confirmation bias (once somebody names a pattern, you tend to remember examples that fit the pattern, and neglect the ones that don't). I just thought it made a funny meme.

Ironically, the Asian guy meme is used when Asians don't even appear in horror films, unless they're made in Asia.
