Just because a religion is built upon the basis of non-tolerance doesn't mean the all of the followers have to be non-tolerant.

Because being tolerant of an idealogy that teaches NON-TOLERANCE is a contradiction. It is what it is. The "less extreme" muslims aren't even considered real followers. You said yourself that Islam is built around non-tolerance.
