The typical response I have encountered is that the Bible is complicated and the original languages are not fully understood therefore we need the Magesterium to interpret it for us otherwise we will fall into heresy. So basically no actual response to the texts just appeal to authority of the Catholic Church

Whats interesting is this meme came about from a discussion I was having with someone on facebook and I mentioned how Rome had an view of Jesus whos work is insufficient for salvation. And the guy I was talking to was more concerned with defending Mary than Jesus in that conversation.
