Yes, they would have killed the gorilla.

I think it would be stupid for them to do so, because it is not like it is a rabid dog out loose on the streets or something. I do think someone should be charged a fine for this though, for the killing of an endangered species.

What does predictability have to do with anything when it lives in a cage and isn't a danger to anyone unless then go into the cage?

The zoo for not having better barricades. The parents for being negligent. The person who made the decision to kill instead of tranq.

Tranquilizers take 10 to fifteen minutes. All the primatologists are saying the zoo did exactly what they should have.

I think they could still have done more without shooting the gorilla. There has been other instances in which a child has fallen into a gorilla exhibit and they were able to recuse the child without shooting the gorilla. Now I know each instance is going to be different, but to me it sure seems like more could have been done.
