The undocumented immigrants who have overstayed their visas, have paid taxes (because they can), have not lived off government welfare (because not all do), and have not murdered/raped/robbed should be given the chance to pay a fairly hefty fine but nonetheless be given the chance to apply for permanent residency NOT citizenship

Look up Law 245i. It was passed with bipartisan support in the 90s and having something like it for visa overstayers is fair as long as they pay a hefty fine as well as back taxes.

You don't know the definition. It is easy to look up. I will own that that was a bit hard off the start. However, the racism thing has got to go. If you look at my responses to various posts you'll find that that simply isn't the case. All I want is for the law to be enforced. The fine case isn't what I'm arguing about. That would be following the law, yes? I'm argueing about those who do not enter legally, thus don't overstay a visa or pay the "hefty" fine.
If you had to pay the fine and got to stay, awesome. I had a collegue who was sent out before that resolution was passed and it sucked. He was here initially legally.

All I was advocating for was for immigrants who overstayed their visas. The border is an entire different story that I just don't want to veer into because I am not familiar with that aspect as much as the visa overstay case.
