That's really not how it works. Keep in mind that average memes by non-popular users can make the front page too. If popularity were the only factor for a meme to make the front page, then all the memes of a popular user would make the front page, and there are no users on imgflip that can claim that.

It's true that the front page is hard to figure out, and sometimes memes that people would call "average" make it there, but you're just guessing when you say "just because a poster is popular," and it's not a good guess. There are probably a lot of factors that influence how people vote on memes.

What I meant by this is when a meme is "average" it doesn't mean it's bad it just lacks in companion to the other memes found on the front page it can be good but the others are better (no offence intended) the kind of meme you look at and wonder "how did this even get on here"

There truly are many variables that dictate why that meme got on but the outcome I was expressing in this meme was that it was due to popularity and a lot of people seeing the meme and not one of potentially higher quality, I couldn't really just leave the meme as seeing an average meme on the front page because it gives the message that some memes just aren't good enough to be on, but popularity induced upvotes is something that keeps lower pointed users off the front page because many people browse the front page and not latest no matter the quality, this meme is directed towards people who have those issues.

TL;DR: I know there are many variables, I had to pick one that I other users relate with.
