Does anyone remember this one...a short story by Stephen King, where there were werewolves (I think) that blended in with regular people. People that didn't smoke and those that did smoke couldn't see them, but if you were "cutting down" on your nicotine and starting to withdrawal, then you saw the "creatures".
It was trippy. Sorry if this does or doesn't have anything to do with your meme, that's just how my mind works.
