ha ! Is that true? What year?

It was a reference to Digitizer, which was a computer game magazine on Teletext "back in the day". At the top of the screen the date on March 10th would read Mar10 - Mario. Digitizer was updated every day and had news, reviews and letters as well as characters who would appear with a surreal take on life. See the meme with Mr T to see what I mean.

I just realised... if you don't know what Teletext was - it was like a version of the internet that came through the TV. It had news, sport, weather as well as letters. You just pressed "text" on the remote and it was there - you then put in the number for what you wanted. Going to news for example would get you a page of headlines (15 I think) and you would put the number in to call up the story. There was only about 60 words to a page so it was kind of like a tweet - but in the days before rolling news and the internet it was brilliant. The BBC had Ceefax (see facts) and ITV and Channel 4 had Teletext. Teletext was commercial with holidays and other adverts. With the advent of the internet and the digital switchover in 2012 it disappeared forever but is fondly remembered by idiots like me. Hope this has helped. :)
