The bad thing is that when it does get featured, I don't think it shows up new, but gets stuck back where to would have been featured when you first submitted it.

I think your right. I think creation time does have alot to do with that. Im not sure if thats good or bad. It may be bad. By the number of views i get.

Every time it takes like 8 hours to get featured it never gets any views, for me at least.

Ive never waited that long. Usually a few hours. Try doing something anoymous. Instant featured i was.

Personally I'd wait longer before deleting (I'd probably wait a day or so). I've had some feature after a 7-8 hour wait, and I don't know what the maximum is.
