The Song: "Forever in the Strings"(Verse 1)I’ve lived a long life, seen the world turn aroundWalked a million miles on this dusty old groundBut the sweetest sweet music that I ever knewWas the day the world stopped, and I first looked at you.(Verse 2)Your hands were so tiny, your eyes full of graceAnd I saw the whole future right there in your faceNow my time here is fading, my sun’s sinking lowBut there’s something I need you to hear before I go.(Chorus)Oh, my sweet girl, don't you cry very longI’m just changing places, I’m turning into a songWhen the wind whispers soft through the leaves on the treeThat’s just me singing back, keeping you company.I may be out of sight, but I’m never too farI’m the quietest night, and the brightest old star.(Verse 3)You’re braver than you think, and you’re stronger than you knowTake the love that I gave you wherever you goBe kind to the world, even when it gets toughAnd remember that just being you is enough.(Chorus)Oh, my sweet girl, don't you cry very longI’m just changing places, I’m turning into a songWhen the wind whispers soft through the leaves on the treeThat’s just me singing back, keeping you company.I may be out of sight, but I’m never too farI’m the quietest night, and the brightest old star.(Outro)So dry up your tears, let your beautiful heart mendThis is just a "goodbye" till I see you again.Keep a smile on your face, let your spirit take wing...Love, Grandpa Keith—forever your song in the strings.
