While he does say "judge not", many people falsely interpret that as "ignore all the sins of others." By telling us not to judge, he means dont condemn others for doing something, you do not decide whether or not someone goes to heaven or not, God does. He is stating that judging others is not our job. However, he also tells us to correct our brothers and that way we can grow spiritually TOGETHER.

All right, let me explain. We have been taught that our sexual organs are to be used for procreation, not for pleasure, that is only a side effect. Thus, anything other than that is a sin, but does not immediately make it mortal. So, being gay can technically be allowed, as long as you remain chaste(don't f**k the same sex).

Your book is an old ass book written 2000 years ago with countless translations that contradict each other. Christianity as a religion itself can barely agree on anything, christian’s are constantly bickering on passages without coming to any conclusion. Just because a book has a relatively similar message despite having multiple authors doesn’t mean it was written by a literal god. The authors of the bible were smart and were perfectly capable of caring the message on. Besides other religions also have countless books from along time ago with relatively similar messages

It’s fine to have a problem with people who misuse the Bible as a way to glorify themselves and demonize others, as that’s not how the Bible is used. I personally believe the Bible does not contradict itself, but if that’s what you believe, go ahead. All I want you to take from this is to just not criticize faiths based on these stereotypes, like the one I called out on the top comment. Disagreements don’t sprout from text, they sprout from people. Saying the Christian faith is perfect is far from the truth, but in the end it isn’t the church that matters, it’s your personal faith. Again, being old isn’t a factor to demean something, and saying they “kind of” go together is wrong, as they fit perfectly like a puzzle piece. As you said, this was over 1000 years, and having a relatively similar message is impressive when often times they don’t have access to each others works, let alone when they fit together so well.

I don’t have a problem with christianity itself i have a problem with christians using an old book with old ideas to justify them harassing others and being dicks. Personally I dont even hate the bible nor, it has some valid stuff in it. Now i dont believe everything in it is nessecarily true sure and I also dont think its a valid source of information for certain topics due to biases but the book itself is fine. Now, the bible is a book and it does contradict itself at times due to it being a book but it is still a well written book.

It is not the translations that contradict each other it is interpretations that contradict. Also it didnt used to be that way, before the great schism of 1054 everyone was catholic and had more or less the exact same interpretation of the bible (with the acceptions of heretics like gnostics and arians)
