It's Israel trying to do one good thing for optics after like the thousands of bad things they've done in Gaza to make them look good and it also helps get rid of a major adversary in the middle east by what is hopefully in their case full on regime change. Iran also helps a lot of jihadist terrorist groups so taking out Iran indirectly helps Israel in that way too
I think Iran should be a western country but definitely not the way Israel and the US are trying to make it one
