In some ways I likely have been. I'm not straight and I live in a red state. I have to conceal how I am truly to the people I know in my life and it's admittedly hard sometimes. But I don't think it's suddenly the end of world. To be honest my mind is focused on a billion other things and "but how OPPRESSED am I?" is quite frankly at the bottom of that list. I don't just do nothing and whinge about inequality and be a f**king loser, I try to get things done and I may even work to fix it.
I couldn't care less what people you would call "oppressors" think of me because I happen to not let it get to me. You will NEVER have an ideal world where bigotry does not exist at least in some way, and if you try to, the outcome of that will just be a totalitarian nightmare. Your response to bigotry should be to ignore it and let it die naturally, not to make it an issue when it was naturally solving itself until you came along and ruined that.
