Because they aren’t taught about it until they learn from other people and can’t f**king realize it if they don’t know what the f**k transgender is. We shelter kids from these concepts and they turn into confused messes when they don’t feel comfortable with their identities. My mom said she has a friend whose kid was trans at a younger age than we consider normal, and that’s because she learned about it and her parents supported her.

Like “Why don’t people know how their bodies work until they learn about it” is pretty much the same type of question. Our brains work differently based on gender, and kids have brains stupid.

I didn’t really know that happened but seems realistic enough in how stupid it is. Intersex people get their gender chosen for them to make them fit in better, and maybe, just spitballing here, adults who tell them to wait to pick their gender are wrong and have a bias against intersex people. They don’t like the idea of a person’s sex not being binary.

This is literally the LGBTQ+ stream, where we talk about gender and sexuality. You say it shouldn’t exist. Why are you here?

But they COULD also be easily influenced and emulate other people, too.
Especially at a young age, the children could emulate and "copy" someone else on how they would express themselves and want to do just that if it's to their interests. :/

I don't think one or two people are going to have that much of an impact when at least 80% of those around the kid are going to be cishet. Teaching a child about something (that is completely normal) existing shouldn't be such a taboo thing to do. Teens get pregnant or spread STDs because they weren't taught anything properly when they were younger, and trans kids are so confused when their bodies start changing in a way they are uncomfortable with because they don't get taught what being transgender is. There's also a whole thing about how the brain works different based on gender and trans people have brains that are different from their assigned sex and are more similar to their actual gender even at a young age.

TLDR: LGBTQ+ people are literally still a minority, so a lot of children are going to be surrounded by more cishet people than trans or gay people. We are also afraid of teaching children about their bodies and gender stuff and that is detrimental a lot of times.
