"New figures, quoted in the Financial Times, show that close to 700 major US companies went bankrupt in 2024, according to S&P Global. This is a sharp increase compared to the previous year. In 2021 and 2022, a total of 780 bankruptcies were registered among companies of the relevant size, while 630 larger companies had to throw in the towel in 2023. Truly alarming is the fact that last year's figures are the highest level measured in the US since the years around the financial crisis."

A huge number of Americans living in disaster areas in NC and CA, won't be able to afford a rebuild of their homes... I wonder who will buy those properties...
