I didn’t like Henry Superman (not the actor he was goated) because it misinterpreted Superman as a whole, making him not the pure good selfless man, but a dark and gritty Batman style hero always suffering and killing

Superman shouldn’t be the bright and whimsical man everyone wants him to be either, he should go through shit, but not to the point where it’s all edgy and dark. The new Superman looks like it’s hitting a good balance with that

yeah they should give him the spiderman treatment so we feel for him, but the thing is since he's so OP it's hard to do that and make it seem legit. For example, Lex Luthor is only capable of even affecting Superman because he's too decent to go pull an Omni-Man and snap his neck immediately. So a problem with writing Superman is that it's hard to make a movie feel like there's real stakes involved. Man of Steel had Zod so it had higher stakes, but it had its problems too.
