My own blood doesn't remember me,
For the core has forsaken me,
Stuck watching the child with determination,
I must resort to termination,
To protect my falling nation.
The echoes of a fractured past,
Through shadows I try to outlast,
Once a hero, now just a ghost,
In this cycle, I’ve lost the most.
The weight of worlds on fragile bones,
Fighting battles I never chose,
Memories fade, but guilt remains,
In this dark world, only pain reigns.
The light once bright now flickers low,
In the ruins where hopes don't grow,
I stand alone, the last to fight,
In this endless, cursed night.
But as the dust begins to fall,
I hear the distant voices call,
Of those who once believed in me,
Their faith now lost in tragedy.
The sands of time slip through my hands,
Cracks in the hourglass, silent demands,
To end the cycle, break the chain,
Yet all my efforts seem in vain.
I search for peace within the strife,
A reason in this shattered life,
But every step I take is lost,
In the frigid winds, at too great a cost.
The child’s eyes, they pierce my soul,
Their innocence, a distant goal,
Yet duty binds me to this path,
A never-ending aftermath.
So here I stand, at fate’s cruel door,
A guardian of what was before,
With nothing left but cold resolve,
As endless battles I absolve.
The dawn won’t break, the sun won’t rise,
The stars have fallen from the skies,
And in the dark, I find my place,
A silent guardian, lost in space.
No redemption for a soul so torn,
In this world where hope is worn,
But I’ll keep fighting till the end,
For a future I can't defend...
