The people who touched kids were already pedophiles, they just wanted a fanbase full of kids that they could eventually reach out to when they got big. MatPat simply wasn't one to begin with, and that's why we like him.
I thought we liked him because he was entertaining and his theories were usually based in fact. I mean, not being a pedophile isn't really something to reward, it's just a normal thing.
