Oh yeah he would be. Took German in high school but my friend and I dropped the class because the teacher had pets and hated goth kids plus I found it difficult.
I never did German at schooI. I'm in the UK and live not far from the crossing into France. I used to go there regularly, then across to Germany and you pick up a bit of the language but it was quite rare to find people there that didn't speak English ! :~)
