Hey when are you going to not ban people for minute details that aren't actually against the tos, and are in fact typically quite socially acceptable?

N-word and other slurs are not acceptable against the Imgflip Terms of Use. We are gearing up to delete accounts.

If it was the N-Word uncensored then that makes complete sense. But it typically never is, many accounts have it censored, replaced, and yet still that gets banned

Oftentimes, it can be important to keep the context of the slur, even if saying it in a manner would in fact be socially unacceptable. For example, if somebody is trying to call another person out for using one, photo evidence is useful. And partial censoring can also remove ideas from peoples heads that the poster is trying to say a slur for the hell of it.

FURTHERMORE, I would argue against that with the context of another rule. Take NSFW for example, cropping, and/or censoring the image is acceptable to the tos, yet you can clearly understand what the image was. I feel the same would apply to this

How about this. Watermelon_Soda has submitted an uncensored N-word image to MSmg. I know where it is. How about I permanently ban them from MSmg? Are you down with that or do you support users who post racist content on MSmg? Here's the applicable Stream Rule:

Would that be a banned for no reason ban or a stream banned for actually breaking the MSmg Stream Rules?.

It would make sense to ban them for some time, I think perma is still a tad harsh for most things. If it were up to me, image gets disapproved if it's UNCENSORED, maybe banned from msmg for hours or a day the first offense, and if somebody happens to be well know for repeating this offense over and over, uncensored, then that would be getting into perma ban territory.

That's a very large assumption you're making Andrew, and a false one would say.

It wouldn't be banning for no reason, but permanently banning without a thought the first time something happens is typically not the best move imo, if you want the condensed version.

Yet, once again, what about what I said about NSFW and there being parallels? I don't think the tos touches enough on censorship of slurs, I may be mistaken but it doesn't say that censored slurs specifically are also unacceptable. Why would we be able to post literal censored pornography, within the tos, and not be able to post a censored word exactly?

promoting suicide(he literally provided a list on why psychopathic_memer should commit suicide before it got deleted)
harassment(many counts, harassing users by claiming nobody cares about there dead family, and harassed Batim about his dead brother and mother)
being disliked(not an offense but still noteworthy)
being underaged(a possibility)

That's a very large assumption you're making Eclipe, and a false one would say. What user did I ban that didn't break the Terms of Use? Be specific.

I believe emosnake, happ if that was you who banned him. There are more, but I am terrible with names, you would have to do some research yourself, I'm sure others can give far more examples than me.
It seems like you're changing the subject as well Andrew, would you mind answering how exactly you should be allowed to post NSFW /literal pornography as long as it is censored, and the same doesn't apply to a single word?

Post slurs, get banned. After banning users for posting slurs, I reported a bunch of slur templates that were getting used, they were deleted by the site. Why do you think the templates were deleted? End of story unless users continue sharing slur templates and posting slurs.

You are going into imaginary tangents. I sometimes post NSFW content within the Terms of Use. I am allowed to post NSFW content and do so in other streams like the fun stream where it's appropriate. Read the Terms again if you like. Turn off NSFW you like.

I have no problem with NSFW. I was simply saying that a parallel should be drawn, NSFW proved a good example. When censored it is perfectly okay. And when censored, slurs should be similarly fine too.

Just because one has higher authority, doesn't mean they are always right
