Debian isn't a chromebook specific thing. It's a Linux distro, and the chromeOS version is terminal only. Debian is an OS, and can be installed on anything, like an old laptop, for example. I actually have Debian 12 on a Dell Latitude D530, which is not a chromebook

*Debian Linux. Also, ChromeOS is NOT based on Debian. It's its own distro with a wildly different kernel

See? The Vitrual machine is based on Debian. The rest of the system is Gentoo. Gentoo and Debian are VERY different.
