Chapter 5: the jumping

As Matt gets ready to head back in, Eren stand by his side
Matt: dude, go with the others.
Eren: what? I just got you back. Don't make me save your ass again.
Matt laughs as he turns around. Spark and Mercury are carrying an unconscious Violet through the vent
Eren: Safe travels, honey!
Mercury nods back as the close the vent.
Matt: ready?
Eren: of course
The two burst through the door, ready to fight whoever stood in their way to see... Jowd. just one man. It seems like he's confident enough to defeat them himself
Jowd: So "Eren" or if thats really your name, you fooled me for sure. but, I guess you slipped up in the end
Eren: okay one, that is my real name, and two, why are you the only one here?
Jowd simply laughed at this
Jowd: you actually used your real name to go undercover? Thats rookie mistake number one! And as for everyone else, they're outside, waiting for that blue haired siblings and that "Violet" girl your friend told us about
Eren turned to Matt
Matt: my bad

Eren: Okay so... you're the only one who's going to stop us?
Jowd: precisely. and then we will take the vessel of the god of war back to it's cell.
Eren: Sorry, but I can't let you have my boss.
Matt snaps as Eren rushes at Jowd. She summons her energy guns to shoot him down, however, Jowd simply jumps over and kicks her in the top of her head. before Jowd could land any more hits, Matt high fives Eren and punches Jowd away.
Matt: geez, tag me in faster next time
Eren: I was having fun!
matt smirks as he coats his hands with Ares armor, punching Jowd in the face, then following up as the ares armor falls onto his legs to kick Jowd in the chest
Jowd: Huh... not bad kid... but I have something none of you have.
he whips out a gun and shoots the pipes above them, steam covering the battlefield
Jowd: Experience.
Eren looks around and tries to find Matt
Eren: Hey dumbass! where are you?

Her question was later answered as Matt gets sent flying towards her
Matt: ow...
Eren laughs, but helps him up
Eren: you alright buddy?
Matt: well I'm still alive. tag in?
Eren: I thought you'll never ask
They high five again before Matt sits down somewhere and spectates.
Jowl: Look, you're harboring a fugitive. if you can just turn him in-
Eren gets out her energy guns, ready to fire
Jowl: Okay never mind.
Jowl tries to kick the gun out of Eren's hand but quickly realizes he can't touch them.
Eren: you fell for it!
This left enough time for her to blast Jowl right in the stomach.
Eren: you know... for a guy who has no awakenings, you're pretty durable.
Jowl: ahaha... well there's a reason I'm the head of the government.
He gets out a remote, which when pressed, pinned Matt and Eren onto the wall. Jowl smiles as he walks up to Matt
Jowl: now you're coming with me-
The minute he places his hand on Matt, something happens. he sees... darkness. and a man with red hair and pupiless eyes.
Ares: You dare put your hand on my vessel? I'll tell you what, I'll give you a chance since I'm just a nice guy. but if you dare try and contact me again, you'll be sorry.
The vision fades as Jowl accidently presses the button on the remote again

Matt and Eren both fall down, but quickly get back up.
Matt: okay. I get close range, you get far range
Eren: whatever you say boss!
The smile at each other before going on opposite side. Jowl gets up, still recovering from that encounter with Ares
Jowl: So the god of war is real...
His thoughts are interrupted by Matt punching him away from him, while Eren fires when Jowl gets too far away from matt to blast him back. The both start walking closer, Matt continuing to send a barrage of punches as Eren joins in on the other side.
Eren: punch him into the ground!
Matt nods as he does exactly that. they then start kicking him while he's on the ground, as if they're playing a intense game of soccer. matt then notices a chair and grabs it.
matt: stand back.
Eren walks back a little as matt slams the chair onto Jowl and continues to kick him
Jowl: OKAY OKAY I YIELD!
Matt and Eren stop.
Matt: okay, but you have to call off all the guards outside the area.
Jowl: okay okay...
As Matt and Eren walk away, Jowl begins to laugh on the floor

Eren: Whats so funny?
Jowl turns to the two of them as he smiles
Jowl: You have no idea what you've done. when they see me, you'll be hunted down for the rest of your life after this.
He then points at matt
Jowl: and you... the god of war... you'll soon kill everyone they love with no way to stop you. soon you'll be able to take this world and recreate it to your liking
Matt: ...I think we broke him
Eren: eh. how about we punch him one more time
Matt nods as Eren and him punch Jowl in the face at the same time, knocking him out
Eren: Alright lets go see Mercury, spark, and violet
Matt: Yeah. hope they're okay
they walk off, laughing and catching up with each other. just like when they first met...
