So my mom had these free United Airlines flight credits from some shit two years ago and decided to use then to go to Costa Rica (sweet) but didn't tell me until the last minute (not sweet) so i had a day to make plans and pack all my shit. Sounds fine but my dumbass forgot overnight and i did all my packing on the day of departure. That was fine though, because the first of the two fights left at like 9pm or smth, for an overnight layover in New Jersey. But that flight was delayed by two hours+, so when we got to the hotel we had about 4 hours of sleep because our next flight left early. (both me and my mom normally sleep late) Fortunately we made it to Costa Rica without any other problems. (The actual vacation was pretty great but I'm not gonna talk about it.) The way home was living hell though, as we had to wake up at 6:15am, to leave the ship (we were doing a Lindblad Expedition because we got a massive discount) and were supposed to fly through DC to come home by 11pm-ish. But our flight was delayed by 5-6 hours because some dumbass had locked the post-9/11 flight cabin door and maintenance had to bust open the door and then fix it again, and then smth else broke idk what; but we were there, books read, switch dead, for a whole quarter of the day. (And i got "randomly" searched twice in a row) By the time we got to dc it was far, far too late to catch the connecting flight, so we had to stay in a hotel for the night, and catch one in the morning. I hate travel.
